During the research section of my project I used a handy cam video camera to record a group of people, and asked them questions about our movie trailer, after we had explained the concept to them, this was good as I was able to capture there opinions/answers as they told me them,
I also used youtube to watch trailers in order to analyse them, I used google to search for magazine front covers and promotional posters which I can use to analyse and gather forms and conventions from them.
when conducting my research I used slideshare to put them onto my blog, I would upload a powerpoint and then upload it to file share, that way I can easily embed it onto my blog.
In the planning stages of my project, I used a big A3 piece of paper to make a mind map and portray my main ideas for the movie, I then created an online version of this mind map on a website called prezi I was then able to embed it to my blog. finally I used blogger to monitor my plannings, created a 13 week plan and used it as a sort of 'diary' in which I could refer back to.
Finally In the construction stages of my film, I used final cut pro on a mac, which was very challenging to operate, I used a HD sony camera to capture my footage in order to put it on the mac, using final cut pro you could use a lot of different features within it to make your trailer look as professional as possible.
When producing my promotional poster and magazine front cover, I went with photoshop to create these. I was already well trained in photoshop as I had to use this programme in AS to create a music magazine so I already knew the basics so I just developed on these basic skills I had.
Also a semi-pro camera was used to film the footage so we could get high qaulity video clips. and i further developed my skills with the camera, such as operating the zoom in/zoom out effectivly to get some nice shots and then using the focus on the camera to get a night clean sharp image.
