I have constructed a Brainstorm to show my main idea and possible locations and characters etc.

Editing
Types of editing
Transitions – fade, dissolve, wipe, spiral, shutter, cut, digital effects.
Different types of cuts - Axial cut, Cross-cutting, fast cutting, Jump cut, long take, Match cut, slow cutting.
What affects the type of editing used
- Genre
- Pace of action
- Sound used
- Create illusion .e.g. danger
- Emphasizes objects that need to be emphasized
- Create a vital subconscious emotional connection to the viewer
Market/cross promotion
- Editing in trailers – used in advertisements for films – if editing isn’t used effectively then the audience may perceive the film in a different way to what the director wanted it to be.

Narrative clues in teaser trailers.
I have tried to guess what this film is about by looking at the clues from the teaser trailer
Clues I have gathered are
- Number tattooed on wrist
- Running towards cliff/freedom
- Locked in a room
- Women – 21, girl – 10/11, bold man – 30, man with long grey hair – 45/50.
- Facial expressions – blank, could be blind?, fear, petrified, blank.
- Setting – Bosnia – eastern Europe, grass and trees don’t look familiar colours
- Sound – no dialogue, slow, dull, sad, slow pace of music could mean slow pace of film.
- Clothing – poor, headscarf
- Men and women are separate
- Same women – main character, is with a lot of different men during the film
- Riding on a horse
- Travel a lot during the film
- Refugees
From this i have gathered that the film is set in like a post war type of time, where war is on the uprising or just about to start
The main women is used as a sex object, and the trailer is split into different sections, there are times when it's bright and time when it's really dark and dull, the bright times could be before the war and everything that has happened, and the dark times are during all the bad things that are happening.
Sound
- Types of sound.
Diagetic - expected
Non digetic - not expected
Voice over (dialogue)
Sound effects (bombs and stuff) – enhanced diagetic sound
Music
Theme song
Sound bridge
- What affects the types of sound you hear?

Location

Editing
- Marketing/cross promotion
Theme tune
Ringtones
Quotes /catch phrase
Soundtrack
First I watched Larry Crowne with no sound and then filled in what sounds I thought would be in the trailer. below the video is the list I came up with
Genre – rom com – the things we see in the trailer, laughable and stuff
Target audience – late teens, to middle aged
Sound we expect to hear – dialogue, soft friendly music, sound effects from props, voice over
Most of what I wrote about the film was correct for sound, We could guess the genre and what sounds and music would be where in the trailer.
Mothers day –
Sounds – quick sudden sounds, jumpy sounds, which make you jump like a kangaroo, sudden action paired with the sound
Diagetic - expected
Non digetic - not expected
Voice over (dialogue)
Sound effects (bombs and stuff) – enhanced diagetic sound

Main Idea for Movie Trailer
Main Idea
Name is going to be either Passage or Places maybe something different, as at the moment they seem irrelevant, perhaps we can adapt the film trailer to accompany the name.
Man finds mobile and whenever he answers the mobile he just hears a strange crackle noise or some white noise and after a few seconds he gets teleported, usually somewhere bad like some place getting beaten up or what not, the guy tries to escape the phone or the places or maybe the people who want the phone, last shot can be either phone ringing on a table or the guy answering and him teleporting like a bright flash to show that.
Possible Locations are ‘forest, field, house, and car’
First shot – Institutional information like company name which is going to be either ‘blue max group productions’ or ‘oaktree productions’
We will have information such ‘from the makers of ‘studio 6/six/’’
And then either the name of the film at the beginning or most probably at the end as it will follow codes and conventions of other movie trailers
Second shot – black screen, sound of a phone ringing and then an image or close up of the main man/character
Third shot – fast paced music and the main character running, maybe in a suit or something?
Fourth shot – naughty man voice, the baddy of the film, saying a key quote of the film or something to show he is after the main character, and then another shot of the guy still running
Fifth shot – main guy running to a different location again.
Sixth shot still open for discussion, think about having the man actually teleporting so we know what the film is about.
Seventh shot will be an image of the phone ringing on a table, vibrating and then on the screen says ‘unknown number’ and it will be a really old crappy nokia or something.
Last shot will be back to a shot of the main character answering the phone and disappearing.
Props – phone
Characters - a man who looks as though he has a job, a voice of a baddy.
Costumes – suit, maybe a different era clothing.

List of Equipment needed for trailer
Locations - In order to produce an effective movie trailer we're going to need a very real location, which hasnt been manipulated for the movie, which fits perfectly, and as I do not know the final draft for my movie trailer I do not know where it will be set, but the following locations are where me and my team are more than likely going to film - Forest/Warehouse/Field/Office
Props - For my movie trailer there are not really many props we're going to need, other than a mobile phone, prefrably an old nokia
Costumes - A suit will be what the main guy will be wearing, any other characters and their outfits have not been finalised yet.
Transport - Two members of my team have cars so we can use them to travel to and from certain locations and carry the filming equipment saftley to where they need to be
Actors - We will definatly be needing a teenager in there later teens or a young man, with stubble, maybe bold in order to get the certain look I want. other characters havnt been finalised so we will not know what actors will need to play them
Technological equipment - A camera with sound equipment, a mac or laptop with decent editing software to edit our movie trailer.
