This is a draft for my Promotional poster, I decided to go with the silhouette as according to my market research a silhouette would be the most appealing for a poster, this is just a draft and I was testing to see if this would look right, I plan on including a scene from the movie, as the background, like a certain location shot, as typically this is what is used in most posters they include a main character and then a location shot or an establishing shot.
As you can see, this magazine poster has included the main character and then an establishing shot, so we know we're going to see this character in the film, and this location, i.e. the island. When creating my poster I will try to include a main character sort of image as well as a sort of location shot which you are likely to see in the film.
Inception have made a variety of different magazine posters, they made a location shot as well as a silhouette, this is what I’m going to try and do with my movie poster. it provides a sense of mystery to the poster, and makes the audience want to know more, the tag line as well does the same, the tag line is a 'teaser' in itself, it makes you want to know more, but providing you with very little information.
This is another inception movie poster but landscape, showing I can make my movie poster landscape or portrait, it depends what is best for my image and the effect I’m trying to give with it.
This Jumper movie poster has the same silhouette effect and again a location.
This poster is different in the resepect that it has the main character in big and then the location in small, which is a very different and unique idea.
